Our Story

The Myyra Story
In 1999, Madhu Chandra picked up a wooden block, dipped it in natural colour, and pressed it onto cotton. What came out wasn’t just a print — it was a language. A language of pattern, of patience, of a woman who saw beauty in every thread. She had no business degree and no English. But she had something rarer — an eye that could read a fabric the way a poet reads the sky.
In 2009, her son Siddharth left his software career and came home. He gave her vision wings — technology, global networks, digital fluency, and an ability to speak to buyers in New York, Paris, and Sydney as naturally as to artisans in Jaipur. In 2010, the company was formally registered. And then the world began to notice.
Madhu walked into villages. She sat with women who had never held a printing block before. She taught them — for free — the art of hand block printing, the craft of stitching, the patience of textile handwork. Not as charity. As dignity.
Today, Myyra is women-led — not as a label, but as a lived truth. GOTS certified. Artisan-made. Shipped from Jaipur to homes, hotels, and conscious brands across five continents.
Certifications & recognition
In 2012, our team became the world’s first to receive GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification for hand block printed textiles. We are also ISO certified and ZED certified for lean production management. From a starting capital of $10,000 in 1999, Myyra has grown to an $8M+ export operation reaching the USA, EU, Middle East, Australia, and South Asia.
We work directly with our artisans. No middlemen. Every piece you buy from Myyra goes from a Jaipur workshop to your home.
